Tieto Indtech establishes itself as an Energy Service Company

This enables the business to securely and standardly manage metering data from Distribution System Operator on behalf of end customers.

As an Energy Service Company (ESCO), Tieto Indtech can enable property owners and facility managers in both the public and private sectors to use quality-assured energy data for monitoring, analysis, and optimization in compliance with current regulations.

Through the BIX, Energy Information eXchange, service, part of Tieto Indtech, customers gain access to standardized and secured metering data for electricity and district heating, support for electronic information exchange processes (EDIEL processes), and operations hosted in energy-efficient and sustainable data centers.

"The energy sector is undergoing a major transformation, where access to high-quality data is becoming increasingly important. Establishing ourselves as an Energy Service Company is an important step in our long-term strategy to be a leading partner in the digitalization of critical societal functions. We see significant opportunities to help market participants transform data into tangible business and sustainability value," says Bent Philipps, Interim Managing Director, Tieto Indtech.

New regulations place increasing demands on how information is shared and how metering data is made available. As an Energy Service Company, Tieto Indtech is an authorized party to receive metering data from Distribution System Operator (DSO:s) on behalf of end customers. The application and approval process for becoming an Energy Service Company is managed through the Ediel Portal and includes requirements such as approved processes and the ability to handle relevant information flows in a secure and standardized manner.

"Many organizations possess large volumes of data but lack efficient and secure ways to utilize it. With our expertise in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), message management, and secure data communication, we can help customers realize the value of metering data faster and more securely—from regulatory compliance to energy optimization," says Åke Liedgren, Senior Sales Manager, Tieto Indtech.
