Human rights

Advancing human rights through responsible technology

We promote and respect human rights through responsible technology and data use, supported by ongoing due diligence across our operations and value chain.

Building trust in the digital world

We believe technology can strengthen human rights when developed and used responsibly. As reliance on digital solutions grows, so do the potential risks to people and society. We address these risks through ongoing human rights due diligence, continuous risk assessments, and responsible practices across our operations, value chain, products, and services.

Human rights policy

Our responsibility to people

Respecting human rights is an integral part of our business, and we strive to understand and manage the potential risks to people across our operations including the supply chain, business partnerships, our own operations, product and service deliveries as well as end users.

Understanding risks and impacts

As a global company with complex value chains, we recognize that our operations and technologies can involve risks to people in some markets and contexts. Our key focus areas include freedom of expression, non‑discrimination, privacy, and labour rights, alongside risks related to sourcing, corruption, and environmental impacts.

Beyond managing risks, we actively support positive outcomes for people and society. We use our capabilities and influence to enable access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and jobs, and we promote fair treatment, equal opportunities, and a culture of diversity and inclusion across our own operations.

We are a signatory of the UN Global Compact and follow the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).

Tieto and The Norwegian Transparency Act

If you have any questions on how we at Tieto or any of our subsidiaries work to respect human rights, please email transparency@tieto.com with the subject heading "Transparency Act". Requests for information from the public are followed up within a reasonable time, and no later than three weeks.

Reports of violations can always be made through our external whistleblowing channel.
