ASFINAG plans, finances, builds, maintains, operates, and tolls Austria’s highways and expressways.
ASFINAG is Austria’s state-owned motorway and expressway operator. Funded through a user-friendly toll system, the organization is committed to enhancing road safety, optimizing traffic flow, and strengthening business connectivity. ASFINAG aims to make Austria’s roads among the safest in Europe, with ambitious targets for the reduction of road fatalities, injuries, and accidents.
Opportunity
ASFINAG’s incident managers are responsible for ensuring safety on Austrian roads every day.
To make their work more efficient, the company wanted to provide its employees with a modern app for tablets and smartphones that would provide optimal support for alerting, coordination, and documentation. With a new app, the company needed to achieve the following:
- Seamlessly integrate the new app with its systems. Connection to existing systems and ongoing enhancements (such as Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems integration)
- A focus had to be made on accessibility and ensure that the app complies with the requirements of the Federal Disability Equality Act. Fully compliant with legal accessibility requirements, ensuring usability for all incident managers
