Tieto recognized in the SAP Quality Awards

Tieto was recognized as the partner for the SAP FICO implementation at Finnish Railways (VR). The project has been selected as the Bronze Winner of the SAP Quality Award in the Medium Implementation category in Nordic and Baltic Countries.

The prestigious award celebrates customers who have excelled in the planning and execution of their SAP software implementations. Tieto´s implementation at Finnish Railways enables more efficient harmonized processes and online visibility in the group. The aim of the project was to replace existing financial and controlling systems with SAP FICO and its interfaces for external IT systems. Tieto covered the whole project from planning, consultancy, implementation and testing to rollouts.

“Tieto’s competence in project management, SAP implementation and Go-Live management enabled the successful delivery of the whole SAP FICO system for VR Group. Especially important was Tieto’s project manager’s capability to take full responsibility of the project and also lead customer organization towards common goals. Project control in the common steering group level worked also well,” comments Riitta Lankinen, Director, Accounting Services at VR-Group Ltd.

“The customer appreciated our competent and experienced project manager and team of consultants from Finland and Czech Republic. One of the main targets for the project was to deliver as standard SAP solution with standard SAP interfaces as possible to reduce the cost of project and application support phase. Good co-operation in the project steering group level supported project managers so that they were able to concentrate on project delivery itself,” says Kari Kiviluoto, SAP Senior Delivery Manager at Tieto.

Regional winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at SAPPHIRE NOW in Madrid, Spain, where Tieto presents the value of Tieto and SAP partnership at the booth 1083.
