Haninge Municipality: modernised email and file-sharing to boost employee collaboration

The challenge

Outdated environments

Haninge Municipality was in the same situation as many districts in the Nordics – facing demands for technical modernisation, better collaboration solutions, new functions and the opportunity to work anywhere, anytime.

Alongside this, their Exchange environment needed an upgrade. The file-sharing solution was old-fashioned and expensive, and their outsourcing agreement was expiring in the near future. Employees were also asking for more modern ways of working.

Haninge worked with Tieto to find ways to improve both the technical environment and the end-user experience.

The solution

Microsoft Office 365 with change management

Haninge Municipality decided to move their mail and file-sharing to the cloud and chose Microsoft Office 365 as their platform. As a future-proofed environment and a flexible solution, it suited the changing needs of the municipality.

As well as implementing the new environment, Tieto offered change-management consultation to help end-users make the transition to a modern workplace, with better opportunities for collaboration and the possibility of working anytime, anywhere.

About the customer

Haninge is one of the largest municipalities in Stockholm County. Currently there are 87,000 inhabitants and the area is growing rapidly, with lots of new developments either planned or underway.
