Tieto partners up with TimeEdit to simplify scheduling in schools

20 February 2018

Scheduling has often been a challenge for teachers and pupils alike due to complicated systems that have made it difficult to easily plan different activities and classes. To ease the administrative burden, Tieto has entered into a partnership with TimeEdit, a leading Nordic supplier of scheduling solutions. The purpose of the partnership is to equip schools with an all-round solution that covers administration, timetables, absence management as well as service planning via the cloud.

TimeEdits cloud-based solutions make it easy to update schedules to fit the needs of the individual pupil, making it possible to add more classes in a specific subject for a person without affecting the schedule for other pupils in his or her class. At the same time, all of the municipality’s resources are gathered in the one and same system, giving school principals and those in charge of planning and coordination, a unique overview over scheduled activities and available resources.

“We’re very pleased to be cooperating with TimeEdit, which is an important addition to our ecosystem of innovative services for the school and educational sector. TimeEdit is a modern solution that can easily be adjusted and adapted to different people and purposes, which is key to efficient planning and administration. The overall aim with our ecosystem is to improve the everyday lives of our customers,” says Carina Wiman, in charge of partnerships at Tieto Education Nordic.

TimeEdit is the market leading supplier of scheduling solutions for higher education and is used in more than 130 schools and universities on a daily basis. In 2017, it launched “TimeEdit Skola”, a modern scheduling tool adjusted to fit school processes. The tool is entirely web-based and seamlessly connects a municipality’s resources. With the new partnership TimeEdit’s services for elementary- and high schools and higher education will be available also within the framework of Tieto’s offerings and services.

About Tieto´s and TimeEdit´s platform:
Tieto and TimeEdit’s integration platform is constructed according to the Swedish Standard for data transfer to and from school schedules (SS 12000). The two-way integration between pupil registers, absentee lists and schedules decreases the risk of doubling up on administrative work and is an invaluable support for those in charge of coordinating schedules and pupil administration.

SS 12000 was developed by Sambruk, the Swedish Association of Municipalities for Joint Development of e-Services, and is a market leading supplier of pupil registers and school schedules to improve the quality of integrations between different systems. SS 12000 is used to exchange information about pupils, teachers, schools, classes, student- and educational groups in connection with school schedules and school material.
