Fortum Sweden has chosen Tieto Smart Utility as their future Customer Information System

The energy company Fortum has chosen Tieto’s Customer Information System called Tieto Smart Utility to support Fortum’s Swedish operations. The Tieto Software as a service (SaaS) solution optimises the company’s core business activities in billing, customer service and sales. The new system will serve approximately 1.5 million customers in total.

Tieto Smart Utility helps energy companies to increase efficiency and reduce costs, by automating and standardizing business processes. The regulatory evergreen solution will ensure a smooth transition at known cost for Fortum into the future Swedish service hub. Thanks to the new services, Fortum Business Services can continue to offer state of the art digital customer service and invoicing solutions for its clients; the electricity retail company Fortum Markets, the electricity distribution company Ellevio and the gas companies Stockholm Gas and Gasnätet i Stockholm, with all in all 1,5 million customers. The solution supports multi-channel digital services independent of time, place and device to the energy consumers.
