Tieto delivers capacity and integration services to Kesko

Kesko has selected Tieto as its capacity and integration service provider. The new agreement covers Kesko's IT infrastructure, integration and SAP servers. Some of the services will be delivered as cloud-based solutions, which will improve Kesko's cost efficiency, the agility of its information technology and its environmental friendliness. The value of the three year contract is approximately EUR 35 million.

IT as a service, in combination with Tieto's global delivery model, will increase flexibility for applications, service maintenance, and development. The customer can also increase or decrease its use of the information technology services as needed. In addition, the transfer to information technology that is delivered as a service on the network takes up less of the company's assets.

Our goal is to support the growth of our business by using IT services that can be quickly and effortlessly scaled. Tieto was able to offer the best solutions for this purpose," Kesko's CIO Arto Hiltunen says.

Tieto's capacity services offer a new way to acquire capacity for the requirements of business applications. Capacity services are a step towards a model of behaviour where most emphasis is placed on the end result instead of the devices and instruments themselves.
