Tieto signaling product portfolio in brief
Tieto Signaling Product portfolio consist of Signaling Stacks supporting SS7, IMS and SAE/LTE network signaling accessible over different types of bearer technologies. It also include Application Enablers, enabling smooth Application design, and Gateways for quick and cost effective, permanent or gap filling, connectivity solutions in network integration.
Tieto’s Signaling Product portfolio generally matches very well with customers’ requirements based on the previous history of functionality requirements from major NEP customers. Future roadmap is, due to our work with the major vendors, following standards as they develop.
The products execute on industry standard open platforms and are available for most common operating systems. They are developed to work in multivendor environments and are characterized by extreme capacity and flexibility, easy to upgrade and expand.
Signaling software is linked by TCP/IP to one or several application servers, and can be co-located with your application in one server or distributed in a number of ways depending on the required capacity, redundancy and host setup. It is optimized for smooth integration with the management system of your choice and supports all major standards like ANSI, ITU, TTC and Chinese. User-friendly traffical and O&M APIs makes it easy to program applications in C, C++ and Java. For O&M purposes there are efficient GUI/CLI tools like Signaling Manager and Trace Viewer available.
Tieto Horizontal Distribution architecture is based on the concept of multiple instances (Back Ends) of the stack which execute in parallel, in active-active mode. Signaling traffic is load shared over the available Back Ends, which can be distributed onto several processing instances (i.e. processors, processor cores, servers and signaling boards. The link layer processing entities (Front Ends) can be co-located on the same instance as a Back End or distributed to another instance.
All signaling software and hardware are supervised (by the ECS and ECM) and if an instance of the stack malfunctions, traffic is automatically rerouted to other available instances of the stack. The supervisor function will then restart the failing signaling SW and/or HW. As soon as an instance of the stack becomes available, it will automatically start to process signaling traffic. All Back Ends in an HD system can share the same network address, i.e. Point Code.
