Tieto improves paper business processes for a global paper company
Tieto is modernizing the mill management processes for a mill in Sweden. The existing manufacturing execution system (MES) will be replaced with Tieto’s integrated paper solution TIPS. The new system offers several significant benefits to the customer’s paper business. The mill in question produces coated publication papers, LWC and newsprint, and is a part of the global hygiene and paper company.
The TIPS solution will keep track of the entire mill management process from roll production and the interface to order and planning functions as well as to quality and warehouse. Real-time production data is immediately available to business operations, such as planning and sales. In turn, changes in business data are immediately accessible to production on the mill floor. This means true transparency and function traceability, improving integration between quality and production.
The IT manager of the mill says: ”To be able to run global paper business with the efficiency and functionality requirements of today we needed to find the best-of-breed paper industry solution that could seamlessly link planning, business operations, and production processes together. It is clear that long term and value adding collaboration combined with top level competences are the key as we want to stay competitive in the global business.”
Sales Executive Mats Lidström from Tieto Forest says: “For us, the partnership with the customer will open new possibilities to develop Tieto’s integrated paper solution further together, innovating and enhancing the performance and usability features of the system to match the constantly evolving requirements of the global paper business environment.”
