Tieto's Wood Yard Management Solution, Roaming Object Coordinating System (ROCS), improves logistics automation and information quality in the wood yard by using mobile computers and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology in log stackers, which makes it an important link in the Digital Forest Chain. It is compatible with Tieto’s other solutions for wood supply operations and pulp, paper and sawmill manufacturing execution.
The purpose of the application is to achieve an increasing level of effectiveness. It is used to track wood from the time it is delivered to the mill until it is consumed. The system is designed to primary work in an outdoor environment. A detailed image over the inventory of the lumber yard and a statistical overview image of the production capacity are the main tools.
