Swedbank is the first customer to take full advantage of the Core Banking Suite functionality for on-line posting, giving the bank extended capabilities to meet the current popular demand s for updated account information in internet banking, as well as operational benefits like improved performance due to more spread traffic on the main-frame machines.
In 1998 CBS Card Issuer was implemented in Swedbank. CBS Card Issuer has been in commercial use since June 1998. The implementation in Swedbank was done through a tightly knit co-operation project between Swedbank and TietoEnator.

The operation in Swedbank is complex with 92 separate banks running on the same system configuration with approximately 5 million cards. Swedbank rolled out the solution into all of the banks during the last half of 1998. TietoEnator handles first level support from our subsidiary in Stockholm and second level support and maintenance from TietoEnator in Oslo. |
In October 2000, Swedbank signed a new agreement with TietoEnator that includes CBS Deposit and CBS Cash Management. Swedbank has replaced their entire deposits solution for the bank and the 92 co-operating banks, as well as establishing a new cash management solution for Swedbank's corporate customers.

The implementation project has commenced and the first major milestone was reached in May 2003 when a new version of CBS Card Issuer on a new platform with enhanced functionality was set into operation in Swedbank. Partnership agreement
TietoEnator and Swedbank have signed an agreement appointing TietoEnator as partner of Swedbank in the area of core banking applications. The agreement expands the existing agreements in these areas into a strategic relationship encompassing new solutions, application management and sourcing.

The agreement comes after successful completion of a modernisation project in the card area where TietoEnator's CBS Card Issuer solution was set in production in May 2003, with approximately 5 million cards. The partners are also in the midst of a modernisation project in the deposits area whereupon the existing deposits solution in Swedbank will be replaced with a new solution based on TietoEnator's CBS Deposit and CBS Cash Management. The new deposit's solution is fully operational and 12 million accounts have converted into the system during 2006. |
