Tieto finalizes modernisation of MTG's IT environment

At the beginning of 2011, Tieto started collaborating with the international media group Modern Times Group (MTG AB), the aim being to further standardise, integrate and modernise MTG's IT environment. The project has encompassed 40 offices in 11 countries in Europe with a total of 2 000 employees. MTG employees at these offices have been given new workspaces, and a joint IT infrastructure has been created to make the work simpler, faster and more cost-effective.

MTG's operations are characterised by time-critical production, with great demands on accessibility. This is why the project team has created a new global network and a workspace concept that ensures both accessibility and quality while meeting MTG's requirements for rapid expansion.

"We are extremely satisfied with the project. It has gone entirely according to plan and according to schedule, with minimal disruption to operations," comments Martin Lewerth, head of Pay-TV and technical manager at MTG.

The transition to the new IT environment has been made at a rapid pace. Already after four months, the first MTG office was able to be put online, and after eight months, the entire project had been completed in line with the agreed delivery criteria.
