Tieto selected as Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency's supplier of public-sector e-services

The Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency have signed a frame agreement with Tieto for services supporting e-government at municipalities, county councils and government agencies. The agreement covers a total of six suppliers and is estimated to result in call-offs equivalent to SEK 200 million per year over a five-year period. Among other things, the deal will contribute to increasing business benefits in the various operations of the public sector.

The frame agreement with Tieto is applicable to different types of support services for introducing and running services for citizens such as 'My Pages' and 'Self Service Assistant', e-services supporting activities such as e-archiving and sending and receiving electronic documents, and IT infrastructure services such as e-identification.

Tieto will primarily supply applications that directly simplify the daily contact of citizens and enterprises with the public sector. Examples include the possibility of monitoring the progress of an individual case at a municipality or government agency. Other examples of e-services that will be developed based on the frame agreement are support for facilitating communication between relatives of patients in the municipal and county councils' healthcare and welfare services.
